Nonpareil and The Truth Eye by Mira Debut Upcycled Streetwear at Paris Fashion Week

Updated: Apr 6

This month, Nonpareil, in partnership with The Truth Eye by Mira, unveiled a groundbreaking collection of upcycled streetwear at Paris Fashion Week. The collaboration redefined the intersection of urban edge and refined elegance, merging avant-garde fashion with a commitment to sustainability—captivating audiences at Galerie Amaragge.

Founded by Trendsetters Only USA & Italy’s creative visionary Travon Ridley-Evans, Nonpareil teamed up with internationally acclaimed Miami-based designer, stylist, and fine artist Mira, to shatter conventional fashion boundaries. Their collaborative vision fused the sophistication of classic dresses with the raw, energetic spirit of streetwear, ushering in a new era that challenges and reshapes style norms.

Mira’s distinctive urban-chic aesthetic, deeply rooted in her fine art background, infuses each piece with a narrative of inner vision, authenticity, and empowerment. Her innovative approach transforms garments into wearable canvases, elevating streetwear to an art form that speaks to a modern, discerning audience.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind the collection, Travon explained that his vision was to elevate the streetwear aesthetic to a level of elegance suitable for daily wear. He noted that the collection was inherently bold, colorful, and loud, but his role was to temper these elements to achieve a more chic and elegant expression.

The outcome was a series of statement pieces that seamlessly blended bold artistic elements with refined tailoring, making each outfit both daring and sophisticated. Travon further highlighted the cultural fusion driving the designs, noting that his close friendship with Mira from Italy and his own residence there allowed them to draw inspiration from both of their cultures and intertwine these influences to create a unique collection.

At its core, the collection served as a powerful commentary on sustainability by transforming pre-loved garments into unique, upcycled masterpieces. Each design integrated repurposed paintings, recycled chains, and raw textures, challenging traditional ideals of perfection and beauty. Travon articulated the symbolism embedded in every piece, explaining that by turning what was often discarded into art, the collection challenged conventional notions of perfection and beauty while highlighting the power of creativity to reveal a new vision for the overlooked and undervalued.

Repurposed paintings breathe new life into everyday wear, symbolizing art’s fluidity beyond the canvas. Meanwhile, chains represent the liberation from fear and societal constraints, while the dangling threads celebrate the beauty inherent in life’s imperfections—leaving room for spontaneity and magic.

The debut at Galerie Amaragge set the stage for an unforgettable experience. With a graffiti-adorned outdoor patio seamlessly transitioning into a sleek, contemporary indoor gallery, the venue mirrored The Truth Eye’s urban, artistic ethos and its strong connection to the local creative community. Travon noted that showcasing at Galerie Amaragge for Paris Fashion Week positively impacted the collection, as the environment resonated with The Truth Eye branding—an urban chic identity—and fully supported Mira’s vision of integrating the local community while elevating the brand to the next level.

Nonpareil and The Truth Eye by Mira have not only pushed the boundaries of style—they’ve set a new standard in sustainable, transformative design. By merging the raw energy of streetwear with the sophistication of high fashion and breathing new life into discarded materials, Mira and Ridley-Evans have crafted a collection that speaks volumes. This is more than fashion—it’s a movement where every piece tells a story of innovation, cultural fusion, and artistic rebellion.
