In the historic city of Chester, England, designer Cherice, the creative mind behind Unblemished by Cherise, unveiled her latest collection, a celebration of timeless elegance and artistic freedom. The show, inspired by the spirit and history of Chester itself, marked a powerful evolution in the brand’s design journey. TrendsettersOnly previously showcased Unblemished at last year's Art Basel and is honoured once again to be a part of this journey through interviewing the designer on her Chester collection
“The inspiration came from the place itself,” Cherice explained. “Learning about its rich history and imagining the unblemished woman of that era really fueled my creativity. I wanted to capture that timeless elegance and translate it into my work.” With the support of sponsorship, the designer was able to approach the collection as pure art, focusing entirely on creation without the constraints of logistics or travel.

Two standout pieces defined the runway: OG Neptune and Dutchess. OG Neptune, a navy blue mermaid dress, commanded attention from the moment it appeared. Crafted from satin, it featured a dramatic, wavy top made from horsehair and covered with satin to resemble ocean waves. A sheer overlay adorned with diamonds and 3D flowers created a striking ombré effect from crisp white to deep navy. “She’s bold and commanding,” Cherice said, noting that Neptune’s presence made it the perfect choice to open the show
Closing the presentation was Dutchess, a structured masterpiece featuring a satin bow top embellished with diamonds around the collar and a columned skirt supported by horsehair for architectural strength. “It’s avant-garde and full of attitude,” Cherice shared. “The perfect piece to close the show with a statement and leave an unforgettable impression.”

The atmosphere in England reflected the collection’s energy and sophistication. As Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” played, the audience’s excitement was palpable. “From the moment the music started, their energy shifted,” Cherie recalled. “I could see phones come out, people smiling and even dancing along.” Each piece connected differently with viewers, capturing the many ways women aspire to feel; confident, elegant, bold, and timeless.

After the show, Cherice received an outpouring of messages from attendees expressing how deeply the designs resonated with them. “It was one of those unforgettable moments that reminded me exactly why I do what I do,” she said.

Reflecting on the experience of showcasing abroad, Cherice emphasized the importance of maintaining a creative mindset. “A lot of people don’t realize how essential it is to work in a creative environment to truly be yourself,” she noted. By creating what she called a “creative bubble,” she was able to stay focused on joy and artistry. “When you enjoy the process, the work becomes unforgettable.”

Through the Chester collection, Unblemished demonstrates that true elegance is as much about feeling as it is about form.
