Since 1997, South African Fashion Week (SAFW) has been more than just a showcase, it has been a cornerstone of the local and global fashion industry. Founded by Lucilla Booyzen, often hailed as the Mother of Fashion Mentorship, SAFW has nurtured designers, empowered models, and shaped conversations that placed South African fashion firmly on the international stage.

South African Fashion Week 2025 was more than a celebration of style—it was a convergence of ancestral knowledge, experimental expression, and emotional storytelling. With each designer revealing a deeply personal and cultural truth through fabric and form, the runway became a vessel for resistance, restoration, and radical imagination. This year, fashion was not just worn—it was embodied.

South African Fashion week is set to, once again, shake up the fashion world on 24th - 26th April with the unveiling of their highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2025 collection.
